Yes. On the date of pick-up several important shipping documents must be signed by the customer.  It is also very important that the customer supervise the work and make certain the mover is performing as agreed. If it is impossible for the customer to be present on the day of the pick-up they can designate, in writing, an agent/representative to act on their behalf and sign the contract.  A customer should think very carefully before granting permission to an agent/representative. The customer will be legally bound by the choices made, acts, and signatures of their agent/representative.
